Loggers East Storm Sewer Upgrades

The District is upgrading storm sewer infrastructure in the Loggers East neighborhood to effectively manage heavier rainfall expected with climate change and accommodate growth.

Background/Project Information

An Integrated Stormwater Management Plan, completed by Urban Systems in 2020, identified a flooding risk in the Loggers East neighbourhood. Upgrades of the storm sewer system were recommended to mitigate the risk of flooding including the recommendation to construct new storm sewer along Finch Dive and Loggers Lane. The project has been divided into two phases as summarized below:

Phase 1: Storm Sewer Upgrades in 2025

  • Phase 1 includes upgrading stormwater infrastructure including new storm sewer pipes, replacing existing culverts and installing new associated infrastructure

Phase 2: Road Upgrades on Finch Drive and Storm Sewer on Loggers Lane in 2027

  • Phase 2 is planned to be completed after the Eagle Mountain Pipeline project which will include the installation of a new pipeline along this shared segment of Finch Drive
  • Road upgrades are planned to include a new sidewalk along the north side of Finch Drive and a new all ages and abilities multi-use-pathway along the south side of Finch Drive
  • New storm sewer pipes will be installed along Loggers Lane, building on the work completed in Phase 1

Impacts of Construction

  • Construction hours will be 7 am to 7 pm Monday to Saturday.
  • Residents should expect increased noise level and short-term traffic disruptions while work is underway.
